New Chapter

My first memories of Julie are as a young girl in my class, polite, quiet and totally inseparable from her best friend Tracey...to the extent that whenever I think of her it is always with her 'shadow'. At the time I wasn't to realise that friendship with our families would grow and I would see Julie develop into a friendly, caring young adult. She was one of the first to come to visit us with her mum on the birth of our son, bringing with them a handmade patchwork quilt. A quilt that I still have and use in our home. It made me think how life is very much like a 'patchwork' of lives and relationships. Of how the colours and varied patterns can blend and compliment. It is a matter of good luck that you find yourselves next to a 'patch' that blends with yours and that is just how I feel about our luck to have been next to Julie and her family and the friendship and many happy memories that have come from our closeness. These memories will always be sewn together and last, making a beautiful patchwork of many lives where every patch is dependant on each other for beauty, strength and support. Julie will be a part of the many patterns of people's quilts where her beauty and brightness will always shine. Janet,Dave and Ian Jose
